News is out that DPD services to Europe have temporarily been removed. No real reason has been given, but popular parcel delivery comparison website Parcel2Go has notified previous customers that they’ll have to use alternative services at the moment.
Even on DPD’s own website, if you try to book DPD services to Europe (other than to Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Netherlands) you’ll find that there are no available service to pick from.
“As someone who has previously shipped to Europe using DPD services through Parcel2Go, we wanted to let you know that DPD have taken the decision to temporarily remove a number of European services from all places where they can be purchased, including Parcel2Go. This affects the DPD Classic European and DPD Classic Drop Off services.
EU countries that are unaffected and can still ship to using these two services are: Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Netherlands.
We have a number of alternative shipping services to any other EU country and would recommend DPD Air services or Parcelforce.”
– Parcel2Go
No reason for the suspension of DPD services to Europe has been given and there’s no confirmation that this has anything to do with the introduction of new VAT regulations in the EU from the 1st of July.
Our advice is to monitor your couriers carefully over the course of the next few days as there may be the odd glitch due to collecting IOSS numbers for shipments as of the 1st of July.
