Just before Christmas we published a white paper in partnership with Scurri – Using tracking data to streamline the customer experience in ecommerce delivery (You can download it here). There is a wealth of data collected by carriers when it comes to delivery status. However, there is a disconnect in how retailers can collect, interpret and communicate this data in a way that benefits their brand and their customer’s experience and we looked at how retailers could best use this data.
Now, as ecommerce takes centre stage due to store closures and the restrictions of the Covid-19 outbreak, we are seeing the landscape shift rapidly. In some ways, with delayed shipments due to the pressure on carriers, tracking data has never been more important and yet at the same time, due to social distancing, carriers are no longer collecting signatures on delivery.
