Canon tap Alibaba’s China Gateway to expand beyond their borders

Canon are the latest player to join Alibaba’s China Gateway Programme – following a growing list of 80-plus countries that have already opted into Alibaba Group’s cloud-computing arm with businesses including Shiseido, WeWork, Chemist Warehouse and Ford – in an effort to scale up in the world’s second-largest economy.

The manoeuvre will see the Japanese imaging-solutions provider leveraging the programme to support their growth in South Asia. The service will manage Canon’s business nuances including their online-to-offline integration, digital marketing and data analysis to improve their customer experience in China.

This March saw Alibaba Group introducing The China Gateway Program to offer international companies a suite of cross-border compliance, security and networking products to support their existing operations in China with their offices worldwide. The programme boasts pre-build services including payments, ecommerce and logistics applications to enable retailers, merchants and brands expand beyond their borders to bag sales overseas.
