Amazon have acquired a cloud solution for importing, INLT to support their marketplace merchants import merchandise in the US, reducing their reliance on suppliers to manage their sellers’ cross-border efforts.

The marketplace bought the importing start-up on Tuesday, for an undisclosed amount, says Reuters.

The move aims put Amazon in the epicentre of their sellers’ expansion efforts, strategically placing the marketplace in a financially advantageous position to offer a trusted and “lower-cost” solution for merchants already trading on the marketplace. That is, Amazon sellers who wish to expand into the US won’t have to look far; the solution would be ‘within hailing distance.’
